Local Addiction Professional Appointed to State Regulatory Board for Addiction Treatment

Kerri Cunningham, LAC, LCSW Appointed to ADRA
On October 27th, Kerri Cunningham LAC, LCSW was appointed by Governor John Bel Edwards to serve on the Louisiana Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority Board (ADRA). She is the Program Director for Victory Addiction Recovery Center in Lafayette.
The ADRA is responsible for educating, regulating, licensing, and credentialing addiction counselors, and prevention specialists who provide services in the state of Louisiana. Members of the board guide, support, and advocate for effective addiction treatment. ADRA credentialing ensures that all counselors specializing in addiction recovery and prevention have the necessary skills to treat diverse groups of patients by awarding our seal of accreditation only to those counselors who have exhibited excellence in their trade.
“It is an honor and privilege to be appointed to the ADRA board,” says Cunningham. “I look forward to working with the board to ensure the citizens of Louisiana have addiction counselors with the necessary skills to treat diverse group of patients.” Cunningham’s term is for three years.
Cunningham, has more than 10 years’ experience in addiction treatment. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor. Cunningham specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, interventions, and trauma counseling. In 2014, she was selected by Governor Bobby Jindal as a commission member for the Louisiana Council on Addictive Disorders.
