Victory’s Doug MacDiarmid Tapped as Coalition Chairman for 2017

MacDiarmid, who serves as the coalition’s media relations member, joined the coalition representing Victory Addiction Recovery Center (Victory) in 2014. MacDiarmid is Victory’s Business Development and Public Relations Representative.

Victory Addiction Recovery Center collaborates and shares its expertise as a leader in addiction treatment with the Knowledge Effect.

“I am thrilled to serve as this year’s chairperson,” says MacDiarmid. “Our goal of education and community outreach mirror those of the Knowledge Effect. We strive to educate and help those in our community suffering from addiction and substance abuse.”

The Knowledge Effect is a nonprofit coalition in Lafayette Parish comprised of members from multiple agencies and sectors of industry. All members are stakeholders who are either touched by or focused on the prevention of substance abuse in their communities. Specific issues like underage drinking, opioid, and synthetic marijuana abuse are identified through data collected locally.

MacDiarmid, alumnus of University of Louisiana at Lafayette College of Business Administration, joined Victory in 2013. Prior to his employment with Victory, he was part of KLFY-TV 10’s Young Broadcasting.
